Whitney and Todd had an amazing and unique backyard wedding. Set in gorgeous Boone, NC, this was not your everyday backyard event. Todd's family was gracious enough to host this fun and family focused affair. Lovely details, a gorgeous bride, a handsome groom, and a talented folk music band made this a truly unforgettable day, and one of my very favorite weddings to date. There are so many reasons why I think this bride and groom are wonderful people, and after you view their wedding photos and hear the significance behind each one, I am sure the rest of the world will fall in love with them too.

Whitney looked so lovely in her elegant lace gown, and Todd was very dapper in his tweed suit!

I love the gorgeous dresses, and the fact they coordinate rather than match. The cake table was unique and tasty! Aside from the traditional tiered wedding cake, Whitney and Todd added several smaller cakes and desserts of all shapes sizes and flavors to please all of their guests.

And of course, who could leave out the main cake! I love the wooden cake stand, and the quirky cutlery!

Todd's brother, Doc, was kind enough to be one of the officiants for their ceremony. This created such an intimate and personal feel. Doc is a CNN Hero and the founder of the charity organization, Wine To Water. Whitney and Todd met through this amazing program that provides clean drinking water to developing countries through the sale of local NC wine. This photo says it all. The love they have for each other is so apparent in the photo. Such a fun bridal party! I always enjoy when the formals are less formal, and have a more relaxed, natural feel. I am so unbelievably obsessed with this Studebaker!This is a neat idea that I felt really showed just how great this family is. They chose to serve their guests themselves at the reception to show their love and gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make it happen. Really a very unique and thoughtful idea. What an angelic singing voice Whitney has! Here she is, singing upon request, at the reception with the very talented Look Homeward, a North Carolina folk band. I have to say, I am a big fan!The basketball is a neat touch! It has its own significance for this couple. Todd is a pro basketball player.
